Of course we all look forward to the weekend, but the group of us here in Interactive Return (now called Radical) didn’t realise just what we had to look forward to this past Friday, when we were announced as the winners of the Digital Media Awards Grand Prix prize.
Shortlisted in three categories, Best Search Marketing Campaign for Tourism Ireland, Best Use of Social Media for Ross O’Carroll Kelly, and Best Mediacast (Podcast/Vodcast) Production for “Online Marketing Ireland” YouTube channel, we hadn’t anticipated such recognition.
The first good news of the night came with the announcement that Radical (Interactive Return) won the category for Best Mediacast Production, for our Online Marketing Ireland YouTube channel. The channel, produced and directed by Radicals’s own web designer, David Randell, has been running since September.
Online Marketing Ireland was set up as a way to give back to the industry with educational videos and interviews with Radical’s online marketing gurus and noble figures in the Irish industry. We have been delighted with its response to date, but were shocked to receive such recognition. The channel will continue to be updated with one or more videos each month. We hope you’ll let us know if you’re interested in speaking on the channel or if you’ve some questions you’d like us to answer for you in a MasterClass video!
Following the rest of the night’s announcements of all of the Digital Media Awards winners for 2009, was another reason to raise our glasses to 2008 in Interactive Return. The Grand Prix Award was given to Interactive Return for their contribution to the growth of online marketing in Ireland. A surprised and delighted Julian Lynch accepted the award on behalf of all of us here in Radical.
Congrats to all of our fellow industry colleagues who were honoured on the night. It’s becoming all the more clear that Ireland’s digital industry is growing both in size and sophistication.
